Enabling Supply Chain Carbon Messaging
Transforming electronic transactional statements to include CO2e declarations and offsets for any product or service at any point in time along the circular supply chain

The Vision
Product and Service decisions demand better CO2e Data
The problem: Tracking, measuring and reporting CO2e is fragmented, not integrated with other product and company transactional information, and uses unstructured data in various formats preventing information to scale.
The solution: To provide an extensible, open-source global taxonomy and standard format that:
- Enables data communications and is technology agnostic, structured for any schema and links to other information.
- Allows for the tracking and tracing of CO2e and related information for any product and service at any point along the supply chain.
- Extends to all information within electronic transactional or messaging forms - enabling full messaging communications.

The Goal
Better CO2e Data Enabling Informed Decisions
- To have a global ecosystem of industry, service, technology and other participants collaborating on the development of an open-source global standard messaging language using existing taxonomies and schemas.
- To have the global standard messaging language incorporate CO2e data and extend to other data required on electronic transactional or messaging formats.
- To have the messaging data transparent, trackable, and traceable throughout the supply chain for a comprehensive view of a product’s or services CO2e, attached environmental offsets and/or certificates, company information, product and/or service attributes, materials, origin, purchase agreements, regulatory requirements, etc.
- To include environmental offsets and/or certificates, company information, product and/or service attributes, materials, origin, purchase agreements, regulatory requirements, etc. on the message type.
- To have the global standard technology agnostic, adaptable, extensible, easy to use and implement, and secure among others.
